We have A New Way to Understand How Your Body Moves

Table of Contents

At NOLA Stretch and Recovery, our goal has always been simple: help people move better, feel better, and get back to doing the things they love. Whether someone comes in dealing with pain, stiffness, tight muscles, or limited mobility, we know there’s rarely just one solution.

That’s why we like to say we offer two different roads to get to the same goal.

We already help people through massage therapy and fascia stretch therapy, both focused on improving how the body moves. Now, we’re excited to introduce something new that helps us understand your body even better from the very start: AI functional movement assessment technology.

Two Paths, One Goal: Better Movement

Some people respond best to hands-on massage, others need targeted stretch therapy, and most benefit from a combination of both. No matter the approach, the end goal is always the same: helping your connective tissue move the way it’s supposed to.

In the body, we want everything to slide and glide. Muscles, fascia, joints — all of it should move smoothly together. When that doesn’t happen, the body starts compensating. That’s when people feel tight, stuck, sore, or off-balance.

This new movement assessment helps us see where those restrictions may be happening before we even put our hands on you.

What Is an AI Functional Movement Assessment?

Don’t worry — this isn’t complicated or intimidating.

When you come in, you’ll simply stand on a mat and follow a few guided movements. Things like squatting, reaching, balancing, or moving your arms and legs in a controlled way. There’s no pain, no strain, and no pressure to “perform.”

As you move, the system looks at how your body moves as a whole. It notices things like:

  • Limited range of motion
  • Imbalances between the left and right side
  • Areas where your body may be compensating
  • Stability and balance challenges

All of this gives us a clear baseline of how your body is moving that day.

Why We Do This With New Clients

For every new client at NOLA Stretch, we’ll start with a short movement assessment. This gives us valuable insight right away. A lot of the things we’ll see are things we’re already going to find once we start working with you — but this puts us a little ahead of the game.

Instead of guessing where to start, we can focus your massage therapy or stretch therapy more precisely. That means your sessions are more efficient, more personalized, and more effective from the very first visit.

Tracking Progress Over Time

One of the biggest benefits of this assessment is that we can track your progress.

As you come back for sessions, we can compare how your body is moving now versus where you started. This helps us see improvements in mobility, stability, and overall movement quality — not just how you feel, but how your body is actually functioning.

For many clients, seeing that progress is incredibly motivating.

Want a Deeper Look? We Offer Full Movement Screenings

In addition to the short assessment, we’ll also be offering more comprehensive full-body movement screenings for clients who want a deeper dive.

These sessions can be tailored to:

  • Your lifestyle
  • Your daily activities
  • Your hobbies or sports
  • Ongoing pain or movement issues

We can even customize assessments for specific activities, like golf, where rotation, balance, and mobility are key. The system includes dozens of movements, and new ones are being added all the time, which means your assessment can grow with your needs.

Technology That Supports Hands-On Care

It’s important to say this clearly: this technology does not replace hands-on care. It supports it.

The real work still happens through skilled massage, targeted fascia stretch therapy, and personalized treatment plans. The assessment simply helps us work smarter, not harder, and helps you get better results.

Ready to Move Better?

If you’re dealing with stiffness, pain, limited movement, or just feel like your body isn’t moving the way it should, this new assessment is a great place to start.

At NOLA Stretch and Recovery, we combine thoughtful technology with experienced hands-on care to help your body slide, glide, and move the way it was designed to.

If you’re curious about your movement or ready to book a session, we’d love to work with you. Book your appointment and let’s get you moving better.
